Journal time!

Gooooooood morning campers!

Hope you're all well out there. Just thought I'd add an entry to my journal as the computer game I've been playing religiously for a week has decided that it will shut itself off whenever it reaches a certain part of the game. There's nothing I can do, and all the work I've done on there has been for nothing..grrrrrr!!

Nothing much has been happening lately. Well actually, that's a lie cos loads has been happening.

We all survived the earthquake (haha!) but god that was scary for us as we've never really felt one before.
Only one injured, and that was because his chimney fell through the roof and landed on his back. That musta hurt! Can you imagine how it must feel to know that out of all England, you were the only person hurt?! Poor guy!

Work's going well. I've got so many projects going on all over the place. Sometimes I forget which project I'm working on for who!

I had a big argument with a member of staff on Friday night. She's been there for 30 odd years and retires in 2 weeks and up until now has been lovely to work with, but on Friday, she decided to be in a mood and talk to me like crap in front of everyone. I felt like such an idiot. All the youths heard, and these are young people that already have enough tension at home, so I thought it very unprofessional of her to start on me in front of them like that. There were other people stood there too. Other staff, parents, and some old staff members who worked there for years a long time ago, who were just coming back to see how everyone was doing. I was mortified so ended up pulling her to one side. She then ran to the office to yell at another member of staff, so Ifollowed her, still arguing. She barged into the office, all guns blazing. What she didn't know was, the boss was also sat in there and witnessed the whole thing. OOPS! This week's gonna be strange at work no doubt!

It's gonna be an interesting few weeks as I have a 2 day course about homophobia coming up, and a residential trip to the lake district for 3 days. There will be me and 3 other staff (we still need to get the 4th member) and 20 youths. I've never been on a residential like this before so I'm not sure what to expect, but I'm sure it'll be a good time.

Anyways, I'm rambling about work far too much, so I'll love ya and leave ya.

Now, let me figure out why this game is going all screwy on me! Grrr!

Well that coworker of yours will certainly go out with a bang... maybe not a good one, but a bang nonetheless. And I do think you should play with me religiously instead of that silly game. (I realize the connotations behind that, hehe)

Glad to have you back (in more ways than one)
Love you

Interesting what happened with that women just losing it, I'm glad you stayed with it and made your case - esp since she chose to yammer away in front of your co-workers.  Things sound very busy out there, hope the residential goes well.  Sounds like it'll be good experience for you!  xoxo CATHY

Seems to me she was just trying to prove to herself she wasn't all used up and she could still 'command' respect...sad she actually lost respect acting like that...
I've had video games do that -just freeze and could go no farther,,,I hate it when that happens.......
take care..

((((((((Ste))))))) Good Morning. I am glad you weren't hurt during that earthquake. I heard a song today sung by the Bangles called Manic Monday. I swear the woman singing it sounded just like your mom. Have a great week.
Love ya,

Good to hear things are going well except for the retiree who will soon be sitting home in a rocking chair. Give her a break it is a big move for her.
Computer games can be addictive, just ask me. Good luck with yours, Bill

I'm sorry you had that arguement with the woman :( that makes things very uncomfortable at work and you are correct about the effect it has on the kids.  I hope things get better for you and that everyone seems to have recovered from the earthquake ~ when I lived in Oregon we had earthquakes occasionally, but then we were on a fault line too  lol ~ plus the fact there are a few volcano's around there too so that didn't help any!  Hugz, Teresa
