EARTHQUAKE!

We've just in the last 5 minutes had an earthquake!! That NEVER happens here, and most of the UK is shaken up cos we've never felt them before.

EDIT

The original news report I'd put here is an old report. A friend sent it to me and I put it on here without reading it first. I did wonder how they managed to report it so quickly!

New report.

Earth tremor felt across England
BBC breaking news graphic
People from across large parts of England have reported an earth tremor.

The BBC has received calls from people in Staffordshire, Warwickshire, Leicestershire, Manchester, Berkshire and the West Midlands about a "quake".

The tremor could be felt in central Birmingham at about 0100 GMT but it is unclear if it has caused any damage.

The West Midlands was hit by an earthquake in 2002 in the Dudley area that reached 5.0 on the Richter scale and caused damage to homes.

Wow, I feel sorry for those who get those all the time, and more severe. That was scary!

Also just found out that California had an earthquake moments before we did?

in 1990 when I lived there there was a small earthquake, too.  Wasn't too bad, it just made the tea in my glass slosh around slightly.  Stay safe.  ~~Kath~~

I live in Cali.......  hmmmmmm........we had an earthquake?  Must have been very mild, or out of my range.
I hate them, so much!  I've lived with them my whole life, and they still scare the shit out of me!

Yes!....was heard here, and so scary. I was on my own Allan had gone Home. I went down three flights of stairs 'to investigate'...not knowing what it was. UNFORTUNATELY in haste I missed my footing on the last stair, and went sprawling across the Lounge. Made it to the 'phone, and rang Allan. He got in the Car and came down.....He Bathed Knee,Elbow etc....and yes I'm very shaken this morning.

It was a big one, by UK standards, Stevie. And your area has had some damage to chimneys, according to the news today
