I've just read the news that another teenager in Bridgend, Wales has committed suicide today. I can't believe it. That makes it the 17th suicide in just a few months. There were two more suicides last week too, both cousins.
Something strange is definitely happening in Bridgend. 17 suicides in any one place in such a short space of time is bizarre, but in a town as small as Bridgend is unheard of! Apparently, the police are saying there's no links, but surely there must be something. There's been talk of a suicide cult stemming from Bebo.com but nobody's certain.
Those poor families who are affected down there. I'm dreading reading the paper tomorrow incase there's another. It seems to be a very common occurrence lately.

I think, Stevie, they want to stop highlighting Bridgend as a suicide hotspot. It puts ideas into people's heads :-(

Bridgend is not very far from where I live. I can't believe all that has happened. I'd agree, there is definitely something strange is going on. The question we ask is 'Why?'. 17 is just shocking. So manyy people with their lives to look forward to. My sympathies go out to all the families affected.

I think theres been another one by now as I am so late with reading my alerts. It's so sad that this seems to be happening. I have read about people saying how selfish it is to take ones own life, but maybe if those people knew ho these people felt inside, they woudn't say that.

As painful as it is, these suicide clusters do occur now and again, seeming for no explicable reason. But many times the cause is traced back to one young person with a hopeless outlook, who's deed "inspires" others feeling the same way to take that final step. Sadly, all they want is to be out of pain, not dead. CATHY
