27 years old, in Sheffield, UK.
I love making new friends from whatever background.People interest me and you can always find me listening to some old lady at the bus stop telling me her life story.Animal cruelty makes me SICK!! I guess I can take life too seriously sometimes, but a sense of humour is so important to me too. On those bad days when everything's going wrong, just laugh it off, listen to some good music and everything will always work out! I HATE sprouts! Bad things happen in life. It's how we learn, deal and move on that's important. The past will always be there, but tomorrow's a new chance, so I like to take that and run! I wish I took more interest in sports! I believe in doing good. No matter how small or big, one act of kindness to a stranger in the street can affect that person a lot. There's nothing better than a smile from a stranger. I believe love has no boundaries, be it sex, religion, colour, whatever! Life is about the journey. Sure, we don't all get along, but we might as well try. Afterall, we're all stuck with each other. I like to make a difference. If I can help, I will.

My cigarette break, about 9:30pm, I'm outside of Tesco's in the dark counting the minutes until I have to go back inside and sit at my till. I'm listening to my headphones and staring into the car park.
After not so long, I notice a figure stood at the other side of the wall. I quickly turn to see an elderly man staring at me. He was speaking but I couldn't hear him with my headphones in, so I quickly took them out and asked 'Pardon?'. He quietly replies 'You should put that out right now. You're a good looking and young guy, you don't need to smoke'. As he says this, his head begins to shake as I've seen happen with many old people, which usually means they're very emotional, and then sure enough, he starts crying. I'm speechless. What can I possibly say? 'Thank you' I say in the best way that I could, but he says nothing. He wipes his eyes, looks at me one more time and then walks away.
I couldn't see where he walked to because bushes blocked my view, but I just kept looking at where he was standing as I finished my cigarette. It felt eerie. An old man does a nice thing and tries to give me advice, and I'm creeped out by it? Makes no sense. This put me in a strange and quiet mood all night.
It's strange though. My friends and family have been telling me to quit smoking for years, and although I know they're trying to help, I soon forget their good intentions when I light up my next cigarette, but now I find myself constantly hearing that old man in my head whenever I light up.
Sometimes, it takes a stranger to make you see what loved ones have been saying for years.
Every time I close my eyes It's you And I know now Who I am
Yea yea yea And I know now
There's a place I go When I'm alone Do anything I want Be anyone I wanna be But it is us I see And I cannot believe I'm fallin That's where I'm goin Where are you goin Hold it close won't let this go
Dream catch me, yea Dream catch me when I fall Or else I won't come back at all
You do so much That you don't know It's true And I know now Who I am
Yea yea yea And I know now
There's a place I go When I'm alone Do anything I want Be anyone I wanna be But it is us I see And I cannot believe I'm fallin That's where I'm goin Where are you goin Hold it close won't let this go
Dream catch me, yea Dream catch me when I fall Or else I won't come back at all
See you as a mountain A fountain of God See you as as a descant soul in the setting sun You as the sound As the _____________
I'm young
There's a place I go When I'm alone Do anything I want Be anyone I wanna be But it is us I see And I cannot believe I'm fallin

Good to see you back.....was wondering where you were !
What a great song! I heard it on Virgin Radio repeatedly on my way back from Devon. I've been trying to find out the name of the artist. I thought it was a new song of Snow Patrol's, but I was wrong.
I know the above had nothing to do with the entry, but hope you've had a food weekend.
All the best, Leigh :o) http://journals.aol.co.uk/edwardssoapy/LeighsWorld/"
nice to see ya back babes... very nice indeed. Sending you hugs.... that is a bit creepy but maybe he was trying to tell ya something........ eh? :::giggle::: love ya xxxxxx
Maybe he wasn't there at all Stevie? Rememeber all that time ago I told you things happen for a reason? If I were you, I would make that my last ciggie! If it creeped you out it happened for a reason. Gaz x
I think he was there for a reason Stevie. I don't know why. Maybe he has lost family because of smoking. I believe everything happens for a reason. HUgs, D http://journals.aol.com/heavenlybama/journey-to-success
It's easy to see why you enjoy songs like this, deep, melodic, has meaning. You already know smoking is a killer, it's your choice to continue. This guy could've lost a son, not unlike yourself, to smoking. Sometimes people are just placed in our path and we can either accept or reject. Right now we're living with the consequences of every decision we ever made. So, any decision you want to consider? Many love you Ste, but you should be the first to. BTW, you couldn't pry a ciggie from my hand for yrs, until the choice was taken from me, I had to quit or die. You could go that route, or.... XOXO CATHY

may have been a guardian angel. Sometimes god sents them to give us messages.
He was there for a reason Ste, you have to figure out what that reason was.

Hmm, strange coincidence, Stevie. Good advice, though.
